Order 41 Rule 13 of the Rules of Court, and Paragraph 59A of the Supreme Court Practice Directions permit the signing of an affidavit (in Singapore) before a commissioner for oaths through a live video or television link.
What is means for you: no need to come down to our office in person just to sign a simple affidavit. You may now sign the affidavit in the comfort of your office/home.
What you need:
- Whatsapp – for a live video call;
- Printer – to print out the affidavit to sign via the video call;
- Envelope and stamp – to return the original affidavit (duly signed by you) to us;
- (optional) Scanner – to scan and return a copy of the signed affidavit to us. This is so that we can received the signed document fast.
